Training of Advocacy Techniques, Planning and Development of National Strategy against FGM and Child Marriage

Project Description

Plan International contracted NBI to support the National Movement for Emancipation and Progress (NaMEP) and coalition members in the development of a national strategy against harmful traditional practices. NBI provided training support meant to prepare the coalition for national advocacy and future legal reform on female genital mutilation (FGM) and child marriage. NBI developed and facilitated a complete training course on advocacy techniques and planning to NaMEP and twenty other community based organizations across Sierra Leone. Following the training, NBI worked with coalition members to develop a road map leading to the collective development of a national advocacy strategy for the elimination of FGM and child marriage.
