Project Description
The Government of Sierra Leone has identified sugar and oil palm as priority sectors for attracting investment in Sierra Leone’s agribusiness sector. NBI was contracted to: (1) gather detailed information on the suitability of sites for target crops (2) conduct a number of basic preparatory steps required to assemble a potential site before investors arrive. NBI consultants identified and mapped suitable land for large-scale agricultural investment, assessing its suitability and ownership. NBI also conducted detailed stakeholder engagement with communities to ensure informed support, as well as detailed land ownership mapping and land-use planning.
